CLADS (Chew Lake Association of Disabled Sailors) has been in existence since 1991 and was started by two very enthusiastic sailors from the main sailing club at Chew Lake, Bristol.

Initially an old boat (a Challenger class Trimaran) was donated to us by the Royal Yachting Association (Sailability) which was a welcome start and over time the club has gone from strength to strength with members, helpers, boats and facilities all growing.

Completion of the Walkway to the Pontoon and Hoist

On a very windy Saturday in May , we were pleased to welcome the Radstock and Midsomer Norton Lions Club who came to give us a generous cheque as a donation at the completion of the Walkway to the pontoon and hoist.  One of our brave young sailors acted as a Guinea Pig to show how the Hoist would work. Swinging a little apprehensively in the wind, he finally landed safely in the waiting boat.

We would like to thank again the Radstock and Midsomer Norton Lions Club for all their generous and loyal support.  It is very much appreciated.

We would like to thank the following charities who also donated to the pontoon/hoist, The Rosalind Hicks Charitable Trust, CAF Charities Aid Foundation, and The Bruce Wake Charitable Trust.
